If you carefully read the book of Daniel (Old Testament in the Bible), you can find such simple and obvious prophecy about Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar dream. He had a dream as God’s answer on his unspoken question which torture every king: “How long will my kingdom last?”

Nebuchadnezzar II (from Akkadian Nabû-kudurri-uṣur, Hebrew: נְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּר, Modern Nəvūkádne’ṣar, Tiberian Neḇukáḏné’ṣār), meaning “O god Nabu, preserve/defend my firstborn son”) was king of Babylon c. 605 BC – c. 562 BC, the longest and most powerful reign of any monarch in the Neo-Babylonian empire.

“How long will my kingdom last?”

This was the point in the time when God revealed timeline of all future kingdoms until Christ’s second coming (the end of sinful world and the beginning of The Heavenly Kingdom). Like image below shows, there were 4 kingdoms or empires which were connected with God’s people through the history and the 4th has an extended period which was named as “divided kingdom (Iron mixed with Clay)” which lays on ruins of Roman empire (Iron). We are living in this extended period of time.

Prophecy is simple and clear, however Catholic theology deny this obvious order of earth’s kingdoms and suggest their order:

“The four successive kingdoms in this apocalyptic perspective are the Babylonian (gold), the Median (silver), the Persian (bronze), and the Hellenistic (iron). The last, after Alexander’s death, was divided among his generals (vv. 4142). Of the kingdoms which emerged from this partitioning, the two that most affected the Jews were the dynasties of the Ptolemies in Egypt and the Seleucids in Syria. They tried in vain, by war and through intermarriage, to restore the unity of Alexander’s empire.” ( http://www.usccb.org/bible/daniel/2 )

Bible explaining itself in Daniel 8 chapter (read whole chapter):

“20 The ram which you saw, having the two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the [i]male goat is the [j]kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king. 22 As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.” (Daniel 8:20-22)

God consider Media and Persia as the one kingdom or empire, not two, this was explained in verses 3 and 4:

“3 Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and there, standing beside the river, was a ram which had two horns, and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great.” (Daniel 8:3-4)

14Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him. 15Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.16Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. (Daniel 6:14-16)

History tells us that Median appear the first and Persian comes as the second (Persian become dominant one), but they were co-rulers known as Median-Persian empire.
History tells us that Greece empire was divided on four parts which is exactly what is reviled by vision in Daniel 7 (which is recapitulation of Daniel 2 vision). There was described that the third empire has four wings and four heads:

6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.” (Daniel 7:6)

“After Alexander’s death his Empire was divided among his four generals (known in Latin as the Diadochi, the name by which they are still referenced, from the Greek, Diadokhoi, meaning “successors”):

So, what is the point? If you search for Catholic answer you will see that they deny this. They claim that Median are 2nd and Persian 3rd kingdom on statue in this vision/dream – and Greece is the 4th. They intentionally want to lose one kingdom and this is the reason why they split Median-Persian on two kingdoms in statue dream. Which kingdom they want to lose? They want to lose 4th kingdom, the Roman empire (represent as iron legs and extended period after end of the Roman empire)! Why do they want that? Because they know that ‘Little Horn’ power from the book of Daniel (chapter 8) impact on period of the Roman ruins and Roman ruins were represent as statue feet (iron mixed with clay – 10 toes – divided nations after Roman empire – middle ages and today). ‘Little Horn’ is religious-political power who raised from the ruins of the Roman empire and have ruled through middle ages and rule today. This denying and splitting an entity was known from the past when Catholic church erased 2nd commandment and split 10th on two in Catechism, to still be a 10 commandments (compare Catechism with Bible). Why they want to hide a knowledge about ‘Little Horn’ power? Because it is obvious that description of this power actually represent them and they do not want to see themselves like God has described them in the books of Daniel and Revelation. The Little Horn is the same power described latter in Daniel 8 as “transgression of desolation” and in the Revelation book as a “Dragon/Sea beast”, “Babylon the Great” and “Whore”. Connection for the Little Horn” or “transgression of desolation” power and “Dragon/Sea Beast” power is the same prophetic period – 3½ years -> 42 months -> 1260 days which represents literary 1260 years of ruling. “Little Horn” power raised among 10 horns of the 4th beast (Daniel 7) and Dragon/Sea Beast  has 10 horns on it’s heads. The main connection between this symbols described in Daniel and Revelation is God’s tabernacle! This power described in Daniel and Revelation is related to God’s tabernacle on very negative way. We know from the book of Hebrew that Jesus Christ is high Priest in Heavenly Tabernacle and this power tried to counterfeit this heavenly reality (“cast down on the earth”). We know from the Bible that we have directly access to our Mediator but church on the earth took this true, cast it down and represent itself as mediator between God and man. This power is known as fallen, false Christianity and leader of this power as antichrist which means – “who is in the place of the Christ” – “Vicar of Christ”

Read in the book of Revelation about false, fallen Christianity and God’s the last message to people of this earth:

Revelation 18:1-24

The Fall of Babylon the Great

18 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall

“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’

19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”

Finality of Babylon’s Fall

21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”
